“Jo” was born on August 4, 1960, in New York City to Philip Jay and Rose “Davy” Medicus. She lived her entire childhood on Baylor Circle in White Plains and attended White Plains public schools, graduating White Plains High School in 1978.

Jo attended the University of Maryland, graduating with a B.A. in Sociology in 1982.

Jo married her high school sweetheart, Scott, in April 1984. Two sons, Doug and Danny, followed. Jo was a devoted wife and mother, even as the family moved from New York to Maryland to North Carolina to New Jersey and finally to Mansfield, TX.

We remember Joanne as being loving, caring, generous, and often very funny. She was also a great listener. When not attending to her human family, Jo was a passionate dog lover. She found time to enjoy painting, participating in a book club, and special needs volunteering at LifePoint and Stepping Stones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Rose “Davy” Medicus, and older brother, Steve Medicus.

She is survived by her husband Scott, sons Doug (Kate) and Danny, bother Rob Medicus, and dearest friends Ron and Randi.
